Monday and those who tried out the the task. I think there is still a little confusion regarding what you had to do so
perhaps we will look it again on Monday and try and come up with something a bit easier? We talked a little about
Autopilot and how we can wrap our selves up in thoughts that may take us away from the moment and sometimes reality. How our past can affect our present and impact on our future.
We were introduced to a book that sounds very interesting it's called The Chimp Paradox: The Mind Management Programme to Help You Achieve Success, Confidence and Happiness. By Prof Steve Peters. Let us know what you think if anyone gives it a read!
Some of us went along to the Get 2gether in Cheltenham session at St Luke's Church Hall yesterday evening. We listened to an overview of 2gether and Local services from the Chief Executive, Shaun Clee. He gave us some information on how much money the service receive and how they have to bid for the service they provide. As with many Government Departments the funding they get has been reduced but they still have to meet their targets and get people successfully through the service. The stats he gave out were very interesting. Then we watched a
short film made by patients of the service. We then heard from Jan Bagnal the local Clinical Lead of Let's Talk who gave a very well presented talk on Anxiety and its affects. She talked about how the Let's Talk service is ever changing as they respond to customer feed back and adapt their treatment programs to the needs of the customer.
They now look at what sort of treatment suits the customer best rather than fitting the individual into the system.
They are offering a lot more courses, which you can access through your GP or giving them a ring on 0800 073 2200 or visit www.talk2gether.nhs.uk. All of the YourSpace folks were very impressed with the evening. So lots to talk and think about and get to grips
with!
