One of the topics we talked about was sleeping or the lack of it! Sleeping can be such a problem, whether it is getting ourselves in a mode of mind where we are happy to go to sleep, needing to do something to relax to get off to sleep or becoming hyper-aware of the whole “I’m going to sleep now” thing. Then once off to sleep we can be plagued by nightmares or unpleasant dreams. We discussed some of the things that may be of help in these situations, writing down dreams, working out if we have any triggers and dealing with these or taking some medication. Perhaps we could look at these in more detail at some point. Seeing what works for you.
"Loneliness" is one of the biggest causes of depression, according to statistics from the NHS. Something that can affect folk of any age. We have some links to some social groups on our YourSpace web site that may be of interest if you are looking for some social activity. We all came to the conclusion that social interaction really helps us with our wellbeing.
There are also many organisations out there that we can use for support if you think you need help with something more specific, like trying to work out personal problems. Organisations such as the Samaritans, RELATE or Signpost. If you know of any more let me know and I will set up a page of links to these on the YourSpace Web Site.
Have a good week to you all.
