So just a few announcements:
I will be setting up our table at St Aidan tonight in preparation for the annual Christmas Fair on Friday, 21st Nov 10 to 12 noon. If anyone has any donations please feel welcome to bring them along from 6pm to 7 tonight at St Aidan or tomorrow morning from 9am prior to sale. I have some things left over from last year but there is room for more!
Reminder regarding the Christmas Social at The Bank House on Monday 17th Dec 7pm. I need £3 deposit, for anyone wishing me to book them a seat, by Monday 1st Dec. You can always book in yourself by popping into The Bank House, the list is behind the bar in the name of Ruth. The cut off date for this is Wednesday 10th Dec.
Lastly I wanted to share this with you. It is from Laura Sacha communications co-ordinator for Depression Alliance. I met Laura when we first set up the group, she is a delightful person and has been extremely supportive of the group:-
"Being with others who understand depression can be a lifeline," ...."Knowing that you're not alone can make a world of difference."
"Many people tell us they feel ashamed about being depressed," says Laura. "When they meet other people with depression and realise that it's common and can happen to anyone, it can really help their self-esteem"
"Self-help groups can be a fun and uplifting way to make new friends and to share support and ideas through illness and recovery," says Laura. "People in these groups support one another, which can help their self-confidence."
Self-help groups allow people with depression and anxiety to provide as well as receive help. I would hope that YourSpace fulfils this ideal.
Hope the coming week is kind to you all
